The Hidden Word Expands Beyond Launch: Free Mobile Apps, Nearly 50 Reading Plans, and Daily Bible Study for Everyone

thehiddenword.org — Since its initial public release, The Hidden Word has grown from a free WordPress Bible discipleship platform into a full web-and-mobile ministry toolkit. Churches can install the free plugin on their own sites—and anyone can visit thehiddenword.org to learn about the Bible, follow daily studies, and grow in Scripture for free, whether or not a nearby church has The Hidden Word set up yet.

Study free on thehiddenword.org—no local church required

We built thehiddenword.org so visitors are never stuck waiting for a church website to catch up. If there isn’t a congregation near you running Hidden Word Bible Lessons, you can still:

  • Read and listen to Scripture in the Bible reader
  • Follow guided reading plans and daily Bible studies
  • Work through the verse curriculum, memorize, and use study tools
  • Explore the gospel presentation and other shareable resources
  • Use the free iPhone and Android apps pointed at The Hidden Word hub

When a church near you does install the plugin, you can connect to that congregation’s site through the app directory—and keep the same habits you started on the hub.

The Hidden Word companion app is available free on:

Open the app, choose your church from the network directory, or stay with The Hidden Word on thehiddenword.org. Sign in securely through the website when you’re ready; progress stays with your account—not a separate social network. Core features include Verse of the Day, Bible reading with listen/explain/share, spaced-repetition memorization, lessons (with offline cache), Study Finder, optional pastoral AI Ask, reading plans, and small-group challenges when available.

Nearly 50 guided reading plans

The hub and plugin now offer 49 multi-day reading plans across dozens of topics, written in a consistent Open → Text → Heart → Practice study voice. The library spans:

  • Life’s hard places — overwhelm, health, addiction, finances, domestic violence, doubt, loneliness, depression, suffering, and more, with crisis guidance (including 988) where needed
  • Faith formation — prayer, identity, forgiveness, discipleship, anger, hope, gratitude, fear, waiting, rest, humility, joy, wisdom, and witness
  • Everyday following — love of neighbor, community, peace, contentment, generosity, walking by the Spirit, Scripture hunger, worship, integrity, and conflict
  • Seasons & story — Advent, Lent, kids Bible stories, new believer foundations, marriage and parenting, singleness, and a chronological “Big Story” overview of Scripture
  • Shareable gospel — Romans Road and other share-ready paths for conversations that don’t require an account

Plans include progress tracking, day-by-day study (verse text, explain, journal), and topic filters on the web and in the app—all available free on thehiddenword.org/reading-plans/.

Beyond mobile and reading plans, The Hidden Word has added major ministry surfaces since the first release, including:

Churches: Hidden Word Bible Lessons remains a 100% free WordPress plugin for churches, ministries, schools, and nonprofits—installable from WordPress.org. It includes a 500-verse NIV curriculum, memorization, Bible reader, Local Bibles, digests, cohorts, maps, concordance tools, and optional bring-your-own-key AI study features. The companion apps connect to the same plugin on your own site.
