Introducing PlanIt v1.0.17 & Premium v1.0.24: Natural-Language AI Search, Elementor Suite, and Performance Upgrades
We are thrilled to announce a massive wave of updates to our event management ecosystem: PlanIt Free (v1.0.17) and PlanIt Premium (v1.0.24).
Whether you are looking to build a community hub using native Gutenberg blocks or a complex commercial booking platform powered by Elementor and AI, this release brings major improvements to discoverability, speed, and backend intelligence.
What’s New at a Glance
This release cycle introduces a paradigm shift in how users find events on your site, alongside deep structural code hardening:
-
PlanIt Event Search: Visitors type natural-language phrases (e.g., “jazz concerts next month”) and get a ranked list of matching upcoming events. Available as a Gutenberg block, shortcode (
[twec_event_search]), and a Premium Elementor widget. -
PlanIt Event Assistant: A conversational AI Q&A block for your frontend visitors, strictly grounded in your real upcoming event data (fully opt-in).
-
WordPress 7.0 AI Tools: Admin editor assist, bulk AI publish prep, RRULE-from-text (Premium), CSV import column mapping (Premium), and RSVP email drafting (Premium).
-
Full Elementor Suite: Dedicated widgets for Calendar, Event List, Compact List, Event Assistant, Event Search, RSVP, Submissions, Get Tickets, and Theme Builder Single-Event layouts.
-
Enterprise-Grade Security & Performance: Hardened nonces, escaped outputs, fully enqueued frontend scripts (zero inline JS), safer payment API routing, and aggressive admin transient caching for rapid data handling.
Deep Dive: Key Highlights
1. Natural-Language Event Search & Visitor Assistant (Opt-In)
Let visitors search your schedule the way they actually talk. Instead of fighting rigid filtering dropdowns, users can type natural questions.
The PlanIt Event Search engine matches plain-language queries against your upcoming schedule using your site’s configured AI connector, cleanly falling back to native keyword search if necessary.
For an even deeper interactive experience, drop the Event Assistant block on your site. This visitor Q&A companion securely cross-references your database to answer logistical questions without ever hallucinating fake dates or locations.
Privacy First: These features are completely off by default. They respect your local privacy preferences, only use visitor IPs for strict local rate limiting, and never send attendee PII or billing data to AI providers.
2. A Complete Elementor & Gutenberg Layout Engine
You shouldn’t need custom code to match your calendar to your theme.
-
For Gutenberg Users: Both packages register lightweight native blocks including Calendar, Lists, Search, and Assistant.
-
For Elementor Pro Power Users: Premium unlocks a complete PlanIt Events design category. Build your single-event templates using dynamic tags (Event Cost, URL, Venue, Start/End times) or seamlessly inject custom RSVPs and front-end submission forms into any layout.
3. Smart Recurrence & Migration Tooling
Setting up complex schedules shouldn’t take all afternoon. Premium unlocks robust RRULE recurrence engines with exceptions (EXDATE). Even better, you can type “Every Tuesday at 7 PM until December” and let Premium’s internal AI build the exact recurrence pattern rule for you.
Migrating from an older platform? Use our built-in CSV and The Events Calendar (TEC) importer, complete with AI-assisted column mapping and smart duplicate-purging utilities.
4. Built to Keep Sites Lighting Fast
Many calendar plugins suffer from “script bloat.” PlanIt is architected on lightweight native WordPress constructs:
-
Frontend scripts and styles are strictly enqueued only on pages where blocks or widgets actively live.
-
Queries utilize highly efficient, date-indexed
meta_querystructures. -
Admin screens utilize transient caching to drastically speed up dashboard rendering and venue/organizer dropdowns.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is PlanIt Event Manager compatible with page builders?
Yes. Premium includes a dedicated PlanIt Events Elementor category featuring calendar, event list, compact table, Event Assistant, Event Search, RSVP, frontend submission, ticketing, and custom single-event Theme Builder elements. The Free version includes native Gutenberg blocks and full shortcode fallback parameters, ensuring seamless functionality across any page builder ecosystem.
How exactly does PlanIt Event Search operate?
When you enable AI settings via Events → Settings → AI, visitors can query your layout using everyday vernacular. PlanIt passes the upcoming scheduling parameters to your locally configured WordPress AI connector, fetches the validated event IDs, and shows a beautifully rendered layout. If no matches return, a keyword script automatically handles the query.
Do I need to purchase a standalone AI API key?
PlanIt does not bundle API keys. You simply opt in within the plugin control panel and link your preferred processing engine via the native Settings → Connectors screen (WordPress 7.0+).
How does the Google Maps integration work?
When mapping your venues, PlanIt leverages the official Google Maps JavaScript API. Your site manages your secure token locally; only location coordinates and structural rendering assets are sent directly to Google per standard map usage guidelines.
How are updates delivered for the Premium version?
Once you apply your valid activation key inside the PlanIt Premium options screen, regular platform adjustments deploy securely through your standard WordPress Dashboard → Updates interface via LandTech’s update lines.
