Description
CivicAdvice is an AI advice columnist for local news publishers. Readers submit questions; CivicAdvice safety-filters them, generates a persona-tuned column via the WordPress AI Client, and creates a draft for your editors to review before anything goes live.
Give each city its own voice — “Dear Pensacola,” “Ask Bennington,” or your own columnist — with tone, category, and byline under your control.
How it works
- A reader submits a question via the built-in form shortcode/block or Gravity Forms.
- Crisis and PII filters run automatically (helpline resources when needed; emails, phones, and addresses stripped).
- Editors approve submissions in the CivicAdvice queue.
- AI generates a title, excerpt, and column body tuned to that city’s persona.
- A draft post is filed for review — you decide when to publish.
Features
- Per-city personas — column name, site/domain, tone prompt, and category for each community
- Reader intake —
[civicadvice_form]shortcode, Gutenberg block, optional city attribute - Submission workflow — approve, reject, generate; pending-count badge in admin
- Safety first — editable crisis keywords with helpline message; PII stripping; sensitive-topic cautions for legal/financial/medical questions
- WordPress AI Client — uses core AI Abilities / Connectors; live diagnostic on Settings
- Local or network mode — single-site, or hub-and-spoke across subdomains
- Gravity Forms bridge — map an existing form or create a pre-wired “Ask” form in one click
- Publishing controls — draft/pending/publish status, default category and columnist author, word count and creativity settings
- Seed starter content — invent fictional sample questions (and optional columns) before real letters arrive
